Agricultural Shade Net
An agricultural shade net, also known as an agro shade net, is a large piece of mesh fabric used in agriculture and horticulture to provide partial shade to crops, plants, and livestock. They are typically made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic that is treated with UV stabilizers to protect them from the sun's rays and extend their lifespan. Agricultural shade nets come in a variety of shade percentages, ranging from 10% to 80%. The percentage of shade provided by the net will determine how much sunlight is able to pass through. Shade nets that provide a higher percentage of shade will block more sunlight and create a cooler environment.
- Protects crops from sunburn and heat stress: Too much sunlight can damage crops, especially young plants and delicate fruits. Shade nets help to regulate the amount of sunlight that reaches plants, preventing them from getting too hot and sunburned.
- Creates a cooler environment: Shade nets can help to lower the temperature in greenhouses, nurseries, and other agricultural settings. This can be beneficial for crops that are sensitive to heat.
- Reduces water evaporation: Shade nets can help to reduce the amount of water that evaporates from the soil. This can be helpful in areas where water is scarce.
- Protects crops from pests and diseases: Shade nets can help to deter some pests and diseases by creating a physical barrier between them and the crops.
- Extends the growing season: Shade nets can be used to extend the growing season for certain crops by protecting them from frost and cold weather.
